Murray/Cantwell Secret Town Hall Canceled

We are going to assume it is actually canceled as there have been a few different sources stating this. The press releases and such explain that it was really just supposed to be a report from the Mt. St. Helens Advisory Committee and had nothing to do with health care. They also cited the "possible violence" of the crowd and safety issues.

Hmmmmm... where would we have gotten the idea that this was a forum at which we could communicate our views on the health care issue? Gosh, I'm just not sure! Oh wait...

Organizing for America

Friend --

I wanted to send you an urgent invitation to an important public meeting with Sen. Patty Murray, Sen. Maria Cantwell, and Rep. Brian Baird this Thursday afternoon, August 13th. They'll be talking to constituents and gathering feedback -- this is an ideal opportunity to make sure your support for health insurance reform is seen and heard at exactly the right time.

Our congressional representatives are back home this month, and they're facing more and more pressure from special interests on health insurance reform. It's critical that we get out there and show them where we stand.

I hope you can join us.

What: Public meeting with
Sen. Patty Murray, Sen. Maria Cantwell, and Rep. Brian Baird

Cowlitz County Expo Center
1900 7th Avenue
Longview, WA 98632

When: Thursday, August 13th
Arrival Time:
12:00 p.m.
Start Time:
2:00 p.m.

Our representatives are under attack by
Washington insiders, insurance companies, and well-financed special interests who don't go a day without spreading lies and stirring up fear. We need to show that we're sick and tired of it, and that we're ready for real change, this year.

Please come to the meeting, and make sure that the most powerful voices in this debate are those calling for real reform, not angrily clamoring for the status quo.

  1. About the Cowlitz County Expo Center event:

At the bottom of the page it now says 752 people have signed up. It was only 698 people this morning, which leads me to think saying the event is not taking place could be a diversion, trying to get people that just have that link, to think that this isn’t taking place. Basically all the ‘kill the monster bill’ folks. You may want to call the Expo Center and confirm?

Hey, see everyone who can tonight in Bellevue on 116th and 8th at the Whole Foods across from Group Health at 5pm!
